Author’s Note on “The Haunting of Parson’s Manor”

Imagine for a moment that you are in a Pre Modern, Gothic Victorian Township where trains are the main mode of transportation outside of the usual horse and carriage; where gas lights struggle to push back the shadows of night, and things that should only exist in rumor or tale linger in the dark recesses waiting for the unwary traveler to happen upon its domain.  Whispery Hollow and The Lovelady Township has invited you to the town of Rockhaven, a remote community in the northeastern region of The Catawba Valley.  It is a town with strange secrets, restless spirits, and darker things that are best only mentioned around the bonfires of Walpurgis or Samhain.  The most prominent feature of Rockhaven, overlooking the town from its precarious perch atop a dismal, if desolate hill is Parsons Manor.  Once a gathering place for the people of the communities of Rockhaven, Summerville, and Whispery Hollow, it is now a place shunned even in general conversation.  The source of many ghost stories, tales of Parsons Manor has terrified both youth and adult alike; yet now a skeptical teen has been coaxed into proving there is nothing more than stories in the old Victorian Manor.  I will bring you this adventure in chapter like installments.  I hope you enjoy this gothic tale of the supernatural.
Thank you for visiting,
See you in the Shadows,
W. R. Frady
